wai tanu Made from arahura stone with a high iron content, this piece powerfully protects us as we travel through dark waters, by drawing negative energy to it, where it is transformed and fed to our higher self.

Wairua Tangaroa: Tangaroa as the sea personified. Water is traditionally represented by water. our relationship with our emotional self determines how the sea will treat us. A good, loving, respectful relationship and the sea will feed us, carry us to our destination and bring us whales and dolphins. A bad relationship and the spirit of the sea will manifest as sharks, rips and storms.

In this piece, this is shown the three spirits intertwined, like green fire. we have growth (plant), currents(water) and predators(animal) combining to produce the spirit of a whale, the largest animal life in the sea.

baby dragon thingy The stone from which this piece is made was given to me by the arahura river after following a ritual. it is an unique mixture of pounamu, showing great age where the green has been oxidised to white. Since it was found, it has hardened considerably. The piece symbolises the union of celtic spirit (the dragon) with maori spirit (the tanifa), producing a flying, toothed, creature (the whole). the spiral on its stomach, which it is holding, represents a new life contained within, so the creature is fertile.
