THE WOODSTOCK RALLY

The idea of Bike Rally on the Coast came about during the “debrief” of the Keith Gilbertson Memorial Run at the Royal Mail Hotel , hokitika... or as it is known Locally, the Woodstock – three mates with just enough under the belt to make anything seem possible and wanting to utilise the name 'Woodstock' in conjunction with motorcycles, alcohol and people.

Next thing you know, meetings were held, more enthusiastic lunatics got on board and in January 2002 the very first Woodstock Rally was run for roughly 300 enthusiastic bikers from around New Zealand.

One thing is for sure – they must have enjoyed themselves cause over the past seven years the crowd has grown to around 1500 folk gathered to enjoy some feral hospitality, the occasional tank battle, an attack by Bin Laden (who incidentally really regrets that move!) and some of the coolest firework displays put on.

Now here we are on the verge of the eighth annual Woody and to be honest – the only way you’ll know just how damn awesome this event is – is to be there!
