The koru or spiral symbolizes growth or beginnings.

It is inspired by the fern unfolding and opening to new life.

The koru itself is carved from a piece of Kawakawa Jade which is sitting on a softer white Jade. As a contrast a slice of Australian black Jade has been used as a base.
